Sunspeker, a startup operating in the aesthetic photovoltaic sector, has announced that it has closed its equity crowdfunding campaign. Launched in March 2025 on the CrowdFundMe platform, the campaign ended on 13 June 2025, reaching its target of €650,000.
An important contribution to the success of this fundraising came from Banca Patrimoni Sella & C., the Sella Group company specialising in the management and administration of private and institutional client assets, demonstrating confidence in Sunspeker’s vision and growth potential, and from a number of industrial players active in the photovoltaic sector, including Soland and Coesa Group, a Milan-based family office, as well as various business angels.
Sunspeker manufactures See Beyond aesthetic photovoltaic films, which allow solar panels to be transformed into customisable design elements while maintaining high energy efficiency. This innovative technology makes it possible to integrate photovoltaics even in sensitive architectural contexts and areas subject to landscape restrictions, or for advertising purposes, promoting
diffusione dell’energia solare.
Over time, Sunspeker has allocated considerable resources to developing aesthetic technology for the photovoltaic sector, attracting growing interest in the market. This interest has resulted in the participation of companies and private citizens, already customers of our start-up, in this first phase of fundraising. This positive feedback encourages us to continue the current fundraising phase and, at the same time, to implement the business plan that involves the creation of the first industrial-scale production site for aesthetic film, made possible by the funds raised,” Fabrizio Chiara, CEO and founder of the start-up, told Startupbusiness.
The funds raised will be used to expand the team and strengthen marketing, commercialisation and research and development activities, making Sunspeker’s solutions accessible to an ever-wider audience.
The large-scale adoption of solar energy often faces an aesthetic limitation: the standardised and inflexible appearance of traditional photovoltaic panels is at odds with the protection of architectural and landscape heritage, which is enshrined in strict regulations in many prestigious areas. It is precisely this challenge, the need to combine sustainability and beauty, that gave rise to the idea of Sunspeker. Founded in 2022, the start-up received a significant initial boost thanks to a pre-seed round from CDP Venture Capital, following its selection for HabiSmart, the proptech accelerator of the network of accelerators headed by CDP VC. This initial support enabled Sunspeker to take its first steps in the development of the innovative customisable See Beyond Static Cover films: a technology capable of transforming solar panels into design elements, opening up new perspectives for the harmonious integration of clean energy in any context.
Bolstered by this pioneering vision and initial financial support, Sunspeker, based between Turin and Canavese, is accelerating its revolution in the solar energy sector, with a strong focus on the development of renewable energy communities (REC) and unprecedented synergies with the world of art.
Sunspeker’s See Beyond films represent a breakthrough in the photovoltaic landscape, combining aesthetics, functionality and efficiency in a single solution. Their versatility allows them to be applied to any solar panel, transforming buildings, vehicles and objects into sources of clean energy with a customised design, overcoming the limitations imposed by landscape and architectural regulations. This unique feature is particularly strategic for the spread of renewable energy communities, where visual integration and the sharing of self-produced energy are key elements for community involvement. An important step in this direction is the partnership signed with Enercade, another promising start-up in the energy sector. Together, Sunspeker and Enercade successfully participated in the ReAction acceleration programme, managed by OGR Tech and Feat Ventures and financed with PNRR funds under the direction of Nodes.
Another important step forward for Sunspeker is The arrival of Roberto Dolci, a manager with solid experience in the energy sector and member of 42N, an advisory firm composed of Italian expats based in Boston. This partnership, facilitated by an internationalisation programme of the Turin Chamber of Commerce, opens a strategic bridge to the American market. , a journey that began in 2024 with Sunspeker’s participation in CES in Las Vegas. Dolci will serve as a partner and advisor, bringing operational and commercial expertise that is essential for the company’s international growth.
The company is currently engaged in prototyping the world’s first artistic photovoltaic system, with a final surface area of over 150 square metres. This ambitious project demonstrates how beauty and design can become the driving force behind an unstoppable green energy transformation, integrating solar energy into creative and highly aesthetic contexts, overcoming traditional visual barriers.
