One million euro crowdfunding campaign for Wayla

Wayla, the Italian urban van pooling start-up, has announced that it has closed its equity crowdfunding campaign on the Mamacrowd platform, reaching its target of €1 million in less than 30 hours after the public phase began. This result confirms the community’s confidence in the vision of more accessible, sustainable and innovative mobility.

“This is just the beginning of an ambitious journey,” said Carlo Bettini, CEO and co-founder of Wayla (pictured with the other founders), in a statement. “It means that hundreds of people believe in our mission and have decided to come on board to transform the way we move around cities together.”

The campaign saw the participation of major investors including Carrani Tours, a travel company with over a century of experience, which reinforces the solidity of the project and its prospects for national growth.

Founded in Milan in October 2024 and operating since June 2025 in Monza and Brianza, Wayla offers an evening and night-time shared transport service that reduces traffic and costs, ensuring safe, digital and eco-friendly journeys. In just eight months, it has recorded over 60,000 app downloads and has established itself as a viable alternative to traditional mobility.

The funds raised will enable Wayla to expand its fleet with additional sustainable vehicles in order to extend its service to new Italian cities, further develop the platform’s technology, and strengthen its B2B offering with van pooling solutions for businesses and events.

“We are incredibly proud of this achievement,” adds Mario Ferretti, co-founder of Wayla. “The response from the community shows that there is a strong need for smarter and more inclusive mobility solutions in Italy. We are now ready to accelerate the expansion of Wayla’s service and reach more and more people.”

Wayla thus confirms the validity of its model, already recognised with awards such as the IoMobility Award and strategic partnerships with organisations such as Assolombarda, InnovUp, FlixBus, Terravision and Movesion.
