Weebora, 1.3 million round for padel-related tourism

Weebora, the international marketplace entirely dedicated to sports tourism in the world of padel, announces that it has closed its first round of pre-seed investment with a total of €1.3 million raised.

Weebora targets the sports tourism market and, in particular, travel for padel enthusiasts: a phenomenon that is no longer just a sport, but a real driver of active tourism at an international level. The capital raised will be used strategically to support growth and strengthen Weebora’s position as a global reference point for padel-related travel experiences. The development plan includes targeted investments in four key areas: technological development and digital innovation, where Weebora will continue to invest in its platform to improve the user experience, integrating advanced features such as intelligent search, dynamic travel planning and personalised engagement tools; international marketing and brand awareness, with part of the budget allocated to strengthening the brand’s presence in key markets in Europe, the United States and Asia through digital campaigns, collaborations with influencers and PR activities; expansion of strategic partnerships: the funding will enable the acceleration of the addition of new exclusive destinations to the platform, the expansion of collaborations with academies, clubs and padel resorts around the world, and the further development of the network of ambassadors and opinion leaders involved in the project. Existing institutional partnerships, such as those with Premier Padel and the Federación Internacional de Pádel (FIP), will also be strengthened, and a strategic support programme for emerging professional players will be implemented.

Another point is the growth of the team to support business development and ensure service quality. Weebora will invest in expanding the team and optimising organisational processes, with the addition of key figures in the areas of technology, marketing, corporate relations, product development and customer care.

Today, Weebora offers padel-related travel experiences in four languages (English, Spanish, Italian, French), handling transactions in five currencies (euro, US dollar, Swiss franc, Canadian dollar, British pound), responding to an ever-growing demand for sports, holidays, culture and entertainment.

In addition to partnerships with key players in the sector, such as Premier Padel and FIP, in less than a year since its inception, Weebora has already established collaborations with the world’s leading padel academies, including the Rafa Nadal Academy, Gustavo Pratto Academy, M3 Academy, and Paquito Navarro Academy. To further strengthen the brand’s position in the professional arena, Weebora has become the official sponsor of Argentine champion Franco Stupaczuk, currently ranked number 5 in the world.

“We are very pleased with the trust placed in us by investors, which rewards the work we have done in just over a year and confirms the potential of our business model,” said Fabio Zecchini, founder and CEO of Weebora (pictured), in a statement. “The completion of this first round lays the foundations for structured and sustainable growth. The goal is to reach a transaction volume of €10 million and a community of one million users in three years, consolidating our leadership in padel-related travel and expanding into new sports verticals. Today, around 80% of travellers choose destinations that offer sporting activities and rely on operators considered experts in this type of tourism. This is one of the factors behind Weebora’s success.”
